Who Are We MRW Corporate Solutions was founded by our principal consultant Alan Hyams who is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years management experience. Having graduated from Manchester University with a BSc Honours in Mathematics, Alan joined Price Waterhouse initially in audit and then, on qualifying, he specialised in computer work. He subsequently spent two years as a Financial Accountant with William Baird Textile Holdings before returning to the profession as a PA to a partner in a small practice and then managing the Manchester office of a national firm.
In 1980 he founded his own practice with himself and just three staff, which he grew into two partners and twenty-three staff before merging with Jackson Stephen LLP, the leading independent practice in the North West. He founded MRW Corporate Solutions in 2008. Alan initially ventured into consultancy in 1989 specialising in Strategic Business Planning and Financial and Management Information Systems. He has subsequently developed his consultancy skills into, Growth and Profit Solutions, Corporate Finance, Continuous Improvement, Waste Minimisation and Business Coaching. Alan is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Corporate Finance faculty of that Institute. He is a past President of the Manchester District Society where he is still an active committee member. He is Chairman of his Institutes North West Regional Board and held office as non-executive Finance Director of Business Link Cheshire and Warrington from its inception in March 2001 to December 2007. Alan is a registered consultant with the National Business Link Consultants Register, a Mindshop Business Improvement Process licensee and holds post qualification diplomas in Corporate Finance and Business Coaching. He has many years experience in dealing with all sizes of businesses at all stages of the business cycle. His approach is hands on, practical and focused on implementation. Alan is married and has three grown up children. His hobbies include Golf, keeping fit by using the gym, motor sport and diving.
